In one of the most heartbreaking news from the showbiz industry, an 35 year old actress had died by suicide in her residence. We are talking about Mallika Rajput who is an actress and singer who is also known as Vijay Lakshmi. According to media reports, Mallika was found dead under mysterious circumstances on February 13 at her residence in Sitakund.
The media reports suggested that she was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room. Reportedly, the unfortunate incident took place while her mother was fast asleep in another room. As of now, the cops suspects it to be a case of suicide and is currently investigating the matter. However, the exact cause of death will be revealed after the postmortem report.
Ever since the news of Vijaylakshmi aka Mallika's demise surfaced, fans have been sharing condolence messages on social media. Interestingly, many have been curious to know, who was Mallika Rajput.
Who Was Mallika Rajput?
She was seen in Kangana Ranaut's 2014 release Revolver Rani followed by a key role in Shaan's music video for the song Yaara Tujhe. She was also a trained Kathak dancer. Later Mallika tried her luck in politics and joined Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in 2016 but failed to do wonders. While she quit politics after two years, Mallika opted for spirituality.
However, she later returned to politics in a while ago and was appointed as National Secretary General of the Bharatiya Savarna Sangh in Uttar Pradesh in 2022
Meanwhile, Mallika's mother has told India TV, "Earlier the door was closed. And the light was on. We took three rounds but could not open the door. At last, I looked through the window and saw that she was standing there. When I knocked on the door, I saw that our daughter was hanging. I called my husband and others but she was no more".
