Somy's mother Tehmina is Iraqi and her father Madan is Pakistani. Somy stayed in Karachi until the age of 9 and later moved to South Florida.

She claimed that she wanted to talk about things in favor of Lawrence Bishnoi. Somy claimed that she wanted Lawrence to connect on a mobile. She asked Lawrence, "Please tell me how that can be done."
