71st National Film Awards: Shah Rukh Wins His 1st National Award; Vikrant Shares The Honour For 12th Fail

71st National Film Awards Best Actor Winner: It's that time of the year when the best talents in the cinema industry are honoured. We are talking about the 71st National Film Awards which will be honouring the best talents and films received their certification from CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023. Interestingly, the list of winners will be announced on August 1 at National Media Centre in New Delhi.
While everyone has been eagerly waiting for the winner's list for 71st National Film Awards, there have been speculations about who will be winning the best actor award. So far, Vikrant Massey is said to be the frontrunner in the category for his performance in the film 12th Fail. And now the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the big winners of the top laurel. To note, Shah Rukh Khan has won his first national award in his career of 33 years. Yes! He has won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his film Jawan. Interestingly, he shared the award with Vikrant Massey, who had won the prestigious award for 12th Fail.
Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan, who made his debut with the 1992 release Deewana, has won around 300 awards in his career of over three decades. However, a National Award was still the missing element and every SRK fan was eagerly waiting for it.
On the other hand, Vikrant Massey has also won his first National Award this year for his incredible stint in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail and sharing it with Shah Rukh Khan appears to be a cherry on top of a cake. After all, he is often being referred to as the next Shah Rukh Khan of the industry. Reacting to the comparisons, Vikrant had earlier told Bollywood Bubble, "This is a huge deal, sir, whoever you are. If you are listening or watching, I'll thank you personally. So, thank you very, very much. It's such a big thing-people like this come around once in a century. It feels nice to hear such things; what can I even say? But, again, it's Shah Rukh Khan. He has been working for 35 years, whereas I've only been here for 10-12 years. Comparing me to him is unfair to him. I feel truly honoured, but it's unfair to him".
