The announcement will take place at a press conference scheduled for 6 PM at the National Media Centre in New Delhi. Media personnel have been requested to arrive by 5:30 PM to witness the unveiling of winners across various categories.

Vikrant Massey and Rani Mukerji are leading contenders for Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively. Vikrant's role in "12th Fail" and Rani's performance in "Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway" have garnered significant acclaim, making them favourites for these prestigious awards.

Anticipation Builds for National Film Awards

The jury is expected to submit its final report to Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister L Murugan at 4 PM. This follows weeks of evaluation, with the film industry eagerly awaiting the results.

Senior Journalist Subhash K Jha quoted a source stating, "Vikrant Massey's performance in 12th Fail is getting him the National Award. It is final." The source also noted that Rani Mukerji is a strong contender for Best Actress, with two actresses from the South also in contention.

Vikrant Massey's Childhood Dream

Fans of Vikrant Massey are hopeful that his dream of winning a National Award will come true. In an earlier interview, Vikrant shared that receiving this award has been a lifelong aspiration since he decided to pursue acting.

Reflecting on the buzz surrounding "12th Fail," Vikrant expressed his hopes: "I hope it does. And I'm sorry, without cost of sounding pompous, and with utmost humility. I hope it does. I hope the film wins an award. I hope Vidhu Vinod Chopra wins an award. I hope I win an award."

Past Winners Set High Standards

At last year's event, Rishab Shetty won Best Actor for his role in "Kantara," while Nithya Menen and Manasi Parekh shared the Best Actress title for their performances in "Thiruchitrambalam" and "Kutch Express," respectively.

"I've prayed for one when I was that young kid wanting to become an actor, I always wanted a National Award because that's the greatest achievement an actor in India can have, to be presented with an award by the President of the country. And I hope it happens. So, fingers crossed," Vikrant added.
