Are Aamir Khan's Mother, Sister A Part Of Sitaare Zameen Par? Actor Says 'Ammi Bhi...'

Aamir Khan recently shared a heartfelt moment from the set of his upcoming film, Sitaare Zameen Par. He revealed that his mother, Zeenat Hussain, and sister, Nikhat Khan, will make their first appearance in the film. This marks a special occasion for the family as they come together on screen for the first time.

During a media interaction, Aamir recounted how his mother's involvement in the film was unplanned. He said with a smile, "Aye, Ammi bhi hai film main." He explained that while shooting the last song of the film, he received a call from his mother asking about the location. When he mentioned they were at the SRPF ground, she expressed her desire to visit the set.

Family's Unexpected On-Screen Debut

The scene being filmed was a vibrant wedding sequence filled with joy. Aamir recalled how Prasanna approached him with a request: "Sir, if you don't mind can we request Ammi ji to be in the shot..." Initially hesitant to ask his mother, Aamir eventually agreed to Prasanna's suggestion. To his surprise, when he asked her, she readily agreed to be part of it.

"She is there in one or two shots," Aamir said emotionally. "This is the first and only film. Nikhat also we are working for the first time. But Nikhat is an actor, aaj nahi toh kal saath main kaam kar he lete but ammi was a huge surprise," he added. The unexpected participation of his mother left him pleasantly surprised.

Star-Studded Cast and Crew

Sitaare Zameen Par features Aamir Khan alongside Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles. The film introduces 10 rising stars: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. Directed by R.S. Prasanna of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan fame, this project marks a significant collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions.

The screenplay is crafted by Divy Nidhi Sharma while Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned the lyrics. Music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The production team includes Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit as producers along with Ravi Bhagchandka. The movie is set to hit theatres on 20th June 2025.
