Abir Gulaal Banned In Pakistan: Fawad Khan-starrer Bollywood films have been facing major challenges whenever the actor features in a Hindi film. First Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which faced uncertainty in release back in 2016 due to the infamous Uri Attack by Pakistani terrorists, now, after the actor starred in another Bollywood film, Abir Gulaal, the film faced a complete ban in India owing to the Pahalgam attack. However, this time, things turned even more challenging as Abir Gulaal is barred from releasing in Fawad's own country, Pakistan. But why did it happen? Let's find out!
Why Is The Fawad Khan Starrer Abir Gulaal Barred From Release In Pakistan?
As reported by TV9, Pakistani distributor Satish Anand confirmed the publication that the film will not be released in Pakistan. Raising concerns over the current scenario, he cited that it is Pakistan's counter-attack to India and the neighbour country will not let it release in its theatres because it stars Indian actress Vaani Kapoor. He said in his statement, "Abir Gulaal will not release in Pakistan because it has an Indian heroine, Vaani Kapoor, in it."
When asked about the financial impact of the same, the distributor called it a 'huge loss', and said, "Huge loss as the time of the release is really bad." It is also projected that the distributors in Pakistan might also face a huge loss as the film is now barred from releasing in cinemas days before its release.
