Actress Aanya Tiwari Brings ‘Innocent, Desi Touch’ to Sarkari Baccha, Set to Release in February

Actress Aanya Tiwari, is all set to star as female lead in Sarkari Baccha. She will star alongside Ruslaan Mumtaz, Brijendra Kala, Junior Mehmood, Hemant Choudhary, and Gurpreet Kaur Chadha. Directed by Suryakant Tyagi and produced by Daanish Siddiqui, the film is set to release on 28th February 2025.
Talking about adding the "innocent, desi touch" to Sarkari Baccha, she says, "Because I myself belong to a small town and have grown up in such an environment since childhood, I was able to relate to that character to a great extent. Apart from this, I attended workshops and observed the girls there. Any actor has to prepare a lot for their role, so I did the same."
On working with Brijendra Kala and his comedic talent, she shares, "Brijendra sir is such a supportive actor that you don't even realize when the scene is completed with him. I learned a lot while working with him. Even in normal conversations, he can make people laugh. If you sit with him, you are bound to laugh."
Discussing the social issue in Sarkari Baccha that resonated most with her, she says, "The film highlights crucial social issues like the pressure of securing a government job, dowry, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. Even today, the shortage of girls affects marriage prospects, and unemployment makes finding jobs difficult. A government job often leads to high dowry demands. These issues are portrayed effectively, along with many other important messages that viewers will understand while watching the film."
Reflecting on Junior Mehmood's last film and his impact, she says, "Junior Mehmood sir is such a legendary actor that no amount of praise is enough for him. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to work with him. I learned from him how an actor should be. His aura was incredible-so humble, down-to-earth, and always radiating positivity. Sitting with him after the shoot, listening to his film experiences, and learning from him was truly special."
Speaking about gaining 8 kg for the role and its impact on her character portrayal, she says, "The goal of gaining weight was to achieve a cute, slightly chubby look for the character, not heavy weight gain. Due to my height, the 8 kg increase doesn't appear too heavy. Being a foodie, I enjoyed experimenting with food and indulging in five-star buffets, but I always ate healthy."
