Ajay Devgn Breaks Silence On Pak Star Hania Aamir’s Casting In Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3: I Won't Blame...
Ajay Devgn addresses the controversy surrounding Diljit Dosanjh's collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, emphasizing the need for dialogue amid India-Pakistan tensions. The film industry reacts as Dosanjh faces backlash, highlighting the complexities of cultural collaborations in the current political climate.

Diljit Dosanjh Controversy: Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, preparing for the release of "Son of Sardaar 2," addressed the criticism faced by actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh. The backlash arose after Dosanjh collaborated with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in "Sardaar Ji 3." During a trailer launch event on July 11, Ajay was questioned about the negative reactions Diljit received in India following the film's trailer release.
The controversy intensified as some social media users labelled Diljit as 'anti-national,' 'insensitive,' and 'shameless.' Ajay expressed his reluctance to take sides, stating, "I don't know where the trolling is coming from, what's right, what's wrong. He must be dealing with his own problems. Others are speaking from their own point of view. So when there are two different perspectives, they can be resolved by sitting down and talking."
Film Industry Reactions
Ajay further commented on the situation by saying that differing perspectives require dialogue for resolution. He added, "He's thinking from his side, you're thinking from yours. It doesn't work that way. I won't blame anyone. I won't say that anyone is right or wrong in this." The trolling began when Diljit promoted his Punjabi film with Hania amid ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) criticised Diljit for working with Hania despite a renewed ban on Pakistani celebrities in India after the Pahalgam terror attack. Reports suggested that Diljit was removed from an upcoming Bollywood project, "Border 2," and that Ammy Virk might replace him. However, Ammy's team denied these rumours to Hindustan Times.
Developments in Film Projects
A few days ago, FWICE announced lifting the ban on Diljit, allowing him to continue shooting for "Border 2." Allegedly, Bhushan Kumar, the producer of the patriotic film, personally requested FWICE to permit Diljit's participation. Meanwhile, "Sardaar Ji 3" premiered overseas on June 27 and has become the highest-grossing Punjabi film of 2025.
This incident highlights ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan affecting cultural collaborations. Despite challenges faced by artists like Diljit Dosanjh due to political issues, films continue to bridge gaps across borders through storytelling and entertainment.
