Akashdeep Sabir Talks About Alia Bhatt’s Scene Which Was Not There I Jigra Final Version - DEETS

Actor-filmmaker Akashdeep Sabir, known for his compelling screen presence, recently opened up about his journey in the industry, his experience working in Jigra and Fateh, and how his approach to acting has evolved over time.
When asked about his well-received performances in these films and how he selects his roles, Sabir shared:
"Unfortunately, the final version of Jigra doesn't have two key scenes we had shot, mainly a confrontation with Alia, just before she leaves to save her brother. I'm not complaining, because wise men like Karan and Vasan know what to keep and what not to, but I wish that scene would have been retained. I knew this time I was up against Alia in a longer role, so I wanted to be able to justify my presence. People did like my work, and the best compliment came recently from Vishal Bharadwaj, who said he liked my portrayal of the character and that my personality suited it to a T.
Off late, I have started learning to say no to one-two scene cameos. Unless the director is part of my bucket list. As long as there are even five scenes, but the character makes an impact to the overall story, I would do it. I'm not a beginner and am now enjoying acting, which earlier I was not settled in for a long time. The time between shots when actors don't have anything to do, etc., was painful for me as I had been a technician for two decades. Slowly the rhythm set in. And now I want to do good work and get better and better."
Sabir's words highlight his evolving perspective on acting. Having spent years behind the camera as a technician, he initially struggled with the waiting periods between takes-something actors must endure. However, as he settled into his craft, he found a new passion for performance, now focusing on meaningful roles that contribute significantly to the narrative.
