However, according to Mid-Day, Alia Bhatt has decided to cancel her Cannes 2025 debut this order due to the current India vs Pakistan tension.
"As the L'Oreal ambassador, Alia was supposed to make her Cannes debut. She was slated to attend the grand opening ceremony tonight, for which she had to fly over the weekend. But in the current times of geopolitical tension between India and Pakistan, she wanted to express solidarity with the country and decided against going," a source informed the portal.
As per the India Today report, Alia might choose another date for her Cannes appearance this year only if the situation on the border remains calm. The portal added, "Alia took this decision considering the tension at the borders. The 'Raazi' actor did not feel it was right to go to Cannes at such a crucial time. However, that's not to say that she won't. Alia's team is closely following the situation at the border and if things remain calm, she might look at another date to attend. However, right now she will skip her attendance."
Earlier today, Alia broke her silence and shared an emotional note on the ongoing tension on the border.
Meanwhile, Alia is yet to officially address the reports about her Cannes debut postponement.
