On Thursday (March 20), Amaal Mallik shared a lengthy emotional note on Instagram in which he revealed that he's been 'clinically depressed' and blamed his parents for his strained relationship with his younger brother Armaan Malik.
He also confessed that he has now distanced himself from his family on a personal level and the interactions with his family "will be strictly professional".
Amaal's note read, "I've reached a point where I can no longer keep silent about the pain I've endured. For years, I've been made to feel like I am less despite spending days & nights toiling away to make a safe life for my people. Cancelled every dream of mine to only find myself being spoken down to and questioning what I've ever done."
"The journey has been terrific for the both of us but the actions of my parents have been the reason we as brothers have gone too far from one another and all of this has made me step in for myself as it has left a very deep scar left across my heart."
Mallik also opened up about his emotional struggles, revealing that he has faced relentless attempts over the years by close individuals to undermine his well-being, relationships, and confidence.
Despite these challenges, he expressed that he continued to move forward with unwavering determination, attributing his success to his own efforts and divine blessings.
The post further read, "Today, with a heavy heart, I announce that I am stepping away from these personal ties. From now on, my interactions with my family will be strictly professional. This isn't a decision made in anger, but one born from the necessity to heal and reclaim my life. I refuse to let the past rob me of my future any longer. I am committed to rebuilding my life, piece by piece, with honesty and strength."

Last night itself, hours after his emotional confession and his mom's reaction, the 'Jai Ho' composer deleted his viral Instagram post. Sharing a new statement on his Instagram story, Amaal requested the media not to "sensationalise & give negative headlines" to his "vulnerabilities".
He further requested the portals to "not harass" his family. He further assured his fans that his bond with his brother Armaan will always remain the same and "nothing can come between" them.
His latest note on his ig story read, "Thank you for the love and support it truly means a lot, but I would request the media portals to not harass my family... Please don't sensationalise & give negative headlines to my vulnerability... It's a request. It's taken a lot for me to open up & it is a very tough time for me...I will always love my family but for now, from afar. Nothing changes between us brothers; Armaan and I are one and nothing can come between us. Love & Peace. (sic)"
