Anil Sharm Interview: Gadar director Anil Sharma's new movie Vanvaas is all set to release on Zee Cinemas ahead of its OTT release. Talking with Filmibeat, the director Anil Sharma, disclosed why he wanted the movie to release on TV ahead of the OTT platform. When asked why he went ahead with this release strategy, Anil said, "OTT p generally aap akele akele film dekh lete hain, but TV par jab aati hai...to pura Parivar ek sath dekhta hai. Anil Sharma said in the interview with Filmibeat that his movie Vanvaas is a "tribute to parents." He believes that the movie has the potential to "emotionally choke" the audience.

Anil Sharma's film Vanvaas stars his son Utkarsh Sharma in the lead role alongside Nana Patekar. When asked whether he ever compared his son to the legendary actor Nana while directing the movie, Anil replied, "Nana hi hamesha kehte the ki kai bar Utkarsh ne kuch better scenes kiye...ye to Nana ka badappan hai." Anil further confessed that there was very good chemistry on set between Nana and his son Utkarsh. However, Anil believes "Acting ke comparison ka koi sawal hi nahi uthta hai kyunki Nana legend hai...Nana tak phuchne m Utakarsh ko bht time lagega..." Anil believes in his son's capability and believes that he will do better with the passing time.

After huge success of Gadar 2, Anil started working on Vanvaas as the director believed it was now his turn to give something back to the society. "Agar Gadar utni badi hit nahi hoti to shayad main ye nahi sochta..."
