Anushka amp amp Virat React To Bengaluru Stampede

Anushka Sharma, married to cricket star Virat Kohli, expressed her sorrow over a tragic incident in Bengaluru. The tragedy occurred during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) IPL 2025 victory celebrations. Anushka shared RCB's official statement on Instagram, adding heartbroken emojis to convey her grief.

At least 11 people lost their lives and over 30 were injured in a stampede-like situation outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The chaos erupted on Wednesday evening as massive crowds gathered to welcome the RCB players. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was set to felicitate them after their historic IPL win against Punjab Kings.

RCB's Response to the Tragedy

In response to the incident, RCB released a formal note expressing deep anguish over the unfortunate events reported by the media. They emphasised that the safety and well-being of everyone is their top priority. "RCB mourns the tragic loss of lives and extend our heartfelt condolences to the affected families," stated RCB.

The team promptly adjusted their program upon learning about the situation and followed local administration's guidance. They urged supporters to stay safe amidst the chaos that unfolded during what should have been a joyous occasion.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli also shared the official statement and wrote, "At a loss for words. Absolutely gutted" along with a broken heart emoji

Uncontrolled Celebrations Turn Deadly

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had organised a felicitation ceremony inside the stadium. However, many fans without valid entry passes contributed to an unmanageable crowd, leading to chaos. Eyewitnesses reported fans climbing fences and scaling walls in desperation to see their favourite stars.

The situation quickly spiralled out of control, resulting in a deadly stampede. Just hours before this tragedy, Anushka Sharma had shared joyful moments from the victory parade with Virat Kohli and RCB squad as they were welcomed by massive crowds across Bengaluru.

Joy Turns into Grief

The celebration turned somber with news of the tragedy overshadowing what should have been a momentous occasion for RCB fans celebrating their team's maiden IPL title in 18 years. Jubilant fans had taken to streets across Bengaluru following Tuesday night's victory.
