The person we are talking about today is Surveen Chawla. The actress has been making headlines lately over her shocking revelations of casting couch experiences. Surveen Chawla, who is all set to steal the screen with her power-packed performance in Netflix's Rana Naidu Season 2, started off her acting career with the iconic Star Plus serial 'Kahin Toh Hoga'. Then, she also appeared in the popular daily soap 'Kausautii Zindagi Kay' in 2004. Later, she forayed into Bollywood and was seen in Hindi films like 'Parched', 'Hate Story 2', and 'Hum Tum Shabana' to name a few.
Recently, in an interview with Hautterfly's The Male Feminist, the 'Sacred Games' actress opened up on her disturbing casting couch experiences. Talking about them, she said, "After the meeting at his office cabin, he came to see me off at the gate, and this is after I got married. And we spoke about that in the meeting. He asked me how it was going and what my husband did, and it was just us speaking inside his cabin because he had a big office. So, when I opened the door and he leaned towards me trying to kiss, and I literally had to push him back and said, 'What are you trying to do here?' Walk off dude. My instant response was, 'What are you doing'. I just walked off."
Surveen recalled another incident when a National Award-winning director had wanted to spend some time with her. Apparently, the director didn't know how to speak in Hindi and he had conveyed the message through an intermediary person. "This was the code language, and I gave them the time to really say what I thought he was saying, but finally I asked him whether he was really asking that the director wants to sleep with me? 'Sir, I am sorry you are knocking on the wrong door. I am not in for bartering myself in exchange for work'. I will never forget these lines," she added.
She also recalled her traumatic childhood harassment story when she was in the 9th standard.
"It was much earlier, I was in my 9th standard. I was at home and stepped outside to play in the evening. I still remember - there was this dark-looking Sardar in a turban riding a cycle. He called me towards him, and as I started walking over, I saw him sticking something out of his pant. Then he started m*** while on the bike..." she said, continuing, "I just took a U-turn and ran away, thinking something scary is going on."
