Amid a whirlwind of speculations, Alia Bhatt made her Cannes 2025 red carpet debut on Friday (May 23). On Saturday, the actress made a dazzling return to the red carpet and created history by wearing Gucci's first-ever saree-inspired ensemble for the closing ceremony.

2) Jury Announces Cannes 2025 Complete Winners List

At the Cannes 2025 closing ceremony on Saturday, the jury finally announced the highly-anticipated winners' names of the Festival de Cannes after the extravagant cinema exhibition that went on for over 10 exciting days. Iranian director Jafar Panahi took home the highly-esteemed Palme d'Or for 'It Was Just An Accident'. On the other hand, the Grand Pix, awarded to the runner-up, went to Joachim Trier for 'Sentimental Value'.

Karan Johar, Neeraj Ghaywan's 'Homebound', starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Ishaan Khatter, lost in the Un Certain Regard category.

3) 5-Hour Power Outage

The Cannes 2025 closing ceremony kickstarted on a bizarre note when a massive 5-hour power cut hit the Alpes-Maritimes region in Southern France at around 10 am (local time), affecting the Cannes 2025 closing day. The light came back at around 3:30 pm, as per Deadline. "We are looking into the likelihood of a fire being started deliberately," a spokesperson for the French national gendarmerie had said.
