Coolie: Aamir Khan Exudes Swag With His Rugged Look From Rajinikanth Starrrer

The first glimpse of Aamir Khan in the film 'Coolie' was revealed by Sun Pictures on July 3. The movie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Rajinikanth, is set to hit theatres on August 14. Aamir Khan makes a special cameo as Dahaa, a rugged character wearing a dark vest and smoking a pipe.

In an interview with Zoom, Aamir Khan shared his excitement about working in 'Coolie'. He mentioned that he accepted the role without reading the script due to his admiration for Rajinikanth. "I really enjoyed doing it. I am big fan of Rajini sir...huge fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir's movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, 'Done. I am doing it. Whatever it is, I am doing it," said the star.

Star-Studded Cast

'Coolie' features an impressive ensemble cast including Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj. Pooja Hegde will also appear in a special role alongside Shruti Haasan. The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander while Girish Gangadharan handles cinematography. Anbariv oversees stunt choreography.

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has clarified that 'Coolie' will not be part of his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). This universe includes films like Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo. Despite this separation from LCU, anticipation remains high for this multi-starrer project.

Aamir Khan's Future Projects

Aamir Khan recently appeared in 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. He is gearing up for two major projects: Mahabharata and a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke with director Rajkumar Hirani. Additionally, Aamir will collaborate with Lokesh Kanagaraj on a large-scale superhero action film slated for production in 2026.

Sun Pictures is producing 'Coolie', adding another feather to their cap of successful ventures. With such an illustrious team behind it, expectations are high for this upcoming release.
