Crazxy: The Best Hindi Thriller Of The Year, You Didn’t Talk About Enough!

In 2025, several films were released that created a completely different kind of impact. And then there are films that simply did not receive the recognition they truly deserved. One such film is Crazxy. Starring Sohum Shah, the film had all the elements to keep viewers hooked throughout, seamlessly compiling its various components. However, considering the treatment it received upon its release, it is evident that Crazxy stands out as one of the most overlooked films of 2025.

Crazxy The Best Hindi Thriller Of The Year

If we look at the story of Crazxy, it revolves around Abhimanyu Sood, a renowned surgeon who receives a chilling phone call informing him that his 16-year-old daughter, Vedica, has been kidnapped. At the same time, he is carrying ₹5 crore for a settlement that could save him from going to jail. Is this a real kidnapping, or an elaborate trap? The entire film revolves around this gripping premise. Although the ending did not work for many, the film remains a bold experiment in today's era of formulaic, jingoistic cinema. It is the kind of film that grows increasingly intense with time. The narrative keeps getting deeper, and as an audience member, you are left hanging on a cliffhanger almost every other minute.

That said, the selection of the story and the risk of portraying such a complex character deserve special credit, especially for Sohum Shah. He is truly a risk-taker, and Bollywood needs more experimental films and artists willing to take such risks in the times we live in. In Crazxy, you primarily see Sohum Shah alone in a car, with most of the film shot within the confined space of the car cabin, no easy feat by any means. As an actor, there are limited moments to express through action; it all depends on narration, dialogue delivery, and the intensity reflected on his face. Yet, he pulls it off brilliantly. It is arguably the most overlooked performance of 2025, but anyone who watches it at any time will undoubtedly appreciate it.

Moving on to the soundtrack, it stands as one of the most underrated albums of the year. Just imagine, it features Kishore Kumar, a revamped version of the iconic Goli Maar Bheje Mein, and the legendary duo of Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj, who together have crafted one of the finest albums of 2025. Infusing such iconic rhythms into an intense thriller is a masterstroke in itself, and unfortunately, even this aspect of the film went largely unnoticed.

Furthermore, the concept of Crazxy was introduced with remarkable creativity, cleverly merging its promotional theme with Sohum Shah's Tumbbad. Bringing Daadi and Hastar into the promotional campaign was an eye-catching move that instantly grabbed attention. All things considered, Crazxy is truly worth watching, and cinema of this calibre does not deserve to remain underrated.
