Deva First Review: Shahid Kapoor Gives A ‘Brilliant’ Performance As Defiant Cop In This Crime Thriller

Deva First Review: Shahid Kapoor is all over the headlines these days and rightfully. The handsome hunk, who was last seen in the 2024 release Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya with Kriti Sanon, will be seen gearing up for his first release of the year. We are talking about Deva which is an action thriller film helmed by Rosshan Andrrews. To note, Deva marks Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews' debut in the Bollywood industry. Apart from Shahid, Deva also features Pooja Hegde, Kubbra Sait and Pavail Gulati in the lead.

To note, Deva features Shahid Kapoor in the role of a cop. Besides, the movie also marks Shahid's first collaboration with Pooja and their chemistry has managed to win million of hearts. In a tweet shared by Always Bollywood, Deva censor copy has given the Shahid starrer a thumbs up. The tweet read as, "@shahidkapoor follows a brilliant yet defiant cop who uncovers deceit & betrayal while investigating a high-profile case in this crime thriller".

Deva Run Time

To note, Deva reportedly has a run time of 156:53 Mins and is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. It will be interesting to see if it can set the box office on fire post release.

Meanwhile, talking about his physical transformation for Deva, Shahid told Zoom, "So, what I wanted to do with this character was, I didn't want to make him metrosexual, chiseled-no. I felt like he should look very rugged. In my head, I always thought he should be like a bulldog. "They're these broad-shouldered, stout beings. They don't have much hair, and they look tough. Aise lagta hai na, maar denge aise. Mera feeling wahi tha ki he should be this tough guy. They're raw, and they look strong. Jisko dekhke lagega, isse panga maat lo. Isse dur raho. Toh mujhe thoda woh vibe chahiye tha".
