In an interview with India Today, Anurag Basu dismissed claims that "Saiyaara" influenced the delay. He explained, "Given that both films feature performers as lead characters, comparisons were expected. But the two stories are entirely different." This statement aims to dispel any misconceptions linking the two projects.

Kartik Aaryan was engaged with Karan Johar's project "Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri," while Basu was busy promoting "Metro… In Dino." These commitments contributed to the postponement. However, Basu assured fans that shooting would resume soon and wrap up quickly.
