Diljit Dosanjh To Be Replaced By Ammy Virk In Border 2 Amid Sardaar Ji 3 Row? Here's What We Know
Diljit Dosanjh's decision to cast Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3 has drawn criticism, leading to calls for his removal from Border 2. Industry concerns arise regarding national sentiment and past social media posts by Aamir.

Diljit Dosanjh is under scrutiny for casting Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in his film, Sardaar Ji 3. The movie will not release in India but will be available internationally, including Pakistan. Amidst this controversy, industry bodies are urging filmmakers to exclude him from upcoming Hindi projects, notably Border 2. Rumours suggest Ammy Virk might replace him in the film.
Despite the speculation, a source told Hindustan Times that there are no plans to replace Diljit in Border 2. "There is no plan to replace or remove Diljit from Border 2. His casting was confirmed nearly nine months ago, long before the recent unfortunate incidents. Nearly half the film has already been shot, and any replacement at this stage would be logistically unfeasible," said a source close to the production.
On the other hand, a source from Ammy's team told Hindustan Times, "These are just speculations. We haven't got any call from anyone as of now."
FWICE's Letter to Sunny Deol
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) addressed a letter to Sunny Deol, lead actor of Border 2. They expressed concern over his association with Diljit Dosanjh due to the latter's decision to work with Hania Aamir. FWICE highlighted that Aamir has shared anti-India content on social media following the Pahalgam terror attack.
The letter further stated that collaborating with an artist from a country associated with violence against India disregards national sentiment. It violates directives from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and FWICE resolutions against working with Pakistani nationals. FWICE urged Deol to reconsider his association with Dosanjh for Border 2.
Ammy Virk as a Potential Replacement
A source close to Border 2's production revealed that Diljit has only filmed a few scenes so far. This makes it feasible for the makers to reshoot those parts if needed. Ammy Virk's name has surfaced as a potential replacement during internal discussions. However, attempts to contact producer Nidhi Dutta and representatives for both actors were unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh addressed the Sardaar Ji 3 controversy in an interview with BBC Asian Network. He explained that Hania Aamir's casting occurred months before the Pahalgam attack in April. "Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha," he said, noting that they shot it in February when everything was fine.
Diljit's Stand on Overseas Release
Dosanjh mentioned that many factors are beyond their control now. The producers have decided not to release Sardaar Ji 3 in India but overseas instead due to current tensions. "Now the situation is not in our hands," he added, supporting their decision despite potential financial losses.
Shooting for Border 2 continues in Pune amidst these developments.
