Emergency Early Review: Kangana Ranaut’s Film Delivers Her Career Best Performance In This Historical Biopic

Emergency Early Review: Kangana Ranaut is an actress who is known for her head strong opinions, unapologetic personality and incredible acting chops. The diva has given us several iconic performances like Queen, Tanu Weds Manu, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi etc. And now, she is making headlines for the release of her much anticipated release Emergency which is a historical biopic based on the late Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the Indian Emergency. The movie is directed and co-produced by Kangana who is seen essaying the role of Indira Gandhi in the film.

Apart from Kangana, Emergency also features Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. The movie had sparked controversy over its trailer earlier and reportedly failed to get the Censorship certificate during its earlier release in September 2024. However, after much delay, Emergency is finally hitting the screens on January 17 and Kangana's massive fan following can't keep calm about it. And now, we have got our hands on early reviews for the film.

In a tweet shared by Always Bollywood, Emergency happens to be Kanganan Ranaut's career best performance. The tweet stated that the re-censored version of the film has more controversial & fiery dialogues. The viral tweet read as, "No doubt @KanganaTeam really nailed it with her fiery performance.. But we anticipate this will invite massive controversy during release. In fact re-edited copy has more controversial & fiery dialogues revolving around Nehru, Sanjay Gandhi, Giani Zail, Bhindranwale & many more realistic characters.. Again some are muted & slightly modified.. Performance wise this one is @KanganaTeam' s career best".

On the other hand, self-proclaimed film critic Umair Sandhu tweeted, "Best thing about film: #KanganaRanaut MINDBLOWING PERFORMANCE! I don't like Historical films, that's not my cup of tea. But Kangana Stole the Show all the way!!!".

Emergency Runtime

To note, Emergency will be having a runtime of 148:07 minutes. Interestingly, the movie will be having a box office clash with Ajay Devgn, Raashi Tandon and Amaan Devgn's release Azaad.
