Life was simpler without social media, believes Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who says endlessly scrolling through posts online feels like a "big mind slam". The 59-year-old, who sat down for a free-wheeling chat with his nephew Arhaan Khan and his friends on the 'Dumb Biryani' podcast, has a total of over 160 million followers across Facebook, X and Instagram. "When there was no social media, you didn't know who went where with whom. Now you switch on the phone and if you are following someone, you get the whole (scrolling) account of where she went, whom she met, this post came, that post came. It's a big mind slam," Salman said during the season finale of the podcast shared on its official YouTube channel on Saturday.

Bengaluru Police on Sunday morning halted British musician Ed Sheeran's live street performance in the city, citing lack of permission by the popular singer-songwriter. The police stopped the gig, which was underway at Church Street, when the Grammy winner was midway into the performance of his chartbuster "Shape of You". In one of the clips, Sheeran -- who performed in Bengaluru on Saturday night and will once again take the stage in the city on Sunday evening -- can be seen arriving with his security personnel at the venue when he was greeted by cheering onlookers. "We were going to play more than one song but we're being asked to play one song," he said on the microphone, before he started strumming the prelude of "Shape of You" on his guitar. Just before he could finish the refrain of the song, a policeman stepped in and pulled the cables attached to the microphone and musical instruments. A senior police official of the Cubbon Park police station said Sheeran was performing "without any permission so they had to stop". "The police got there because someone had complained of public nuisance," he told PTI, adding if the musician and his team had the permit they could have shown it to the cops.

Actor Harshvardhan Rane on Sunday thanked viewers for their love after his film "Sanam Teri Kasam" crossed its initial box office collection in just two days of re-release in theatres. Also starring Pakistani actor Mawra Hocane, the romance drama released in 2016 but didn't perform well at the box office. Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the film was re-released in cinemas on Friday. It has earned Rs 11.36 crore by Saturday. Rane shared the box office update on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the audience. "ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER RECORD!!! #SanamTerikasam is breaking records on its second day! Thank you for the love and support! #SanamTeriKasam #Day2 #BoxOffice #LoveStory #Bollywood #ReRelease," he wrote in the caption.
