Earlier reports suggested that Saif Ali Khan was stabbed near his spine. During the attack, the knife broke upon impact, with the front portion of the blade getting lodged in the actor's back. As a result, he was hospitalized at Lilavati Hospital, where doctors successfully removed the metal fragment from his body. A photo of the knife has since gone viral on social media, further fueling public interest in the incident.

Shahid Kapoor on Friday opened up on the shocking attack on his "Rangoon" co-star Saif Ali Khan. Khan, 54, received six stab injuries, including in his neck, in the attack around 2.30 am on Thursday. He was out of danger following an emergency surgery at the Lilavati Hospital where he was rushed, according to doctors treating him. "We hope Saif's health is better. We hope he is feeling better. We all are shocked with what happened with him in a personal space. It's difficult to absorb (something like this) in a city like Mumbai. I'm sure the police are trying their best..." Kapoor told reporters at the trailer launch of his new movie "Deva".

As Saif Ali Khan underwent a surgery post an stabbing attack on him, it is reported that he is recovering week in Lilavati Hospital and is likely to be discharged soon. "We are observing his progress and he is doing excellently well according to our expectations. As per his progress, we have advised him bed rest and if he is comfortable, then in two to three days we will discharge him," said Dr Nitin Dange, neurosurgeon at Lilavati Hospital.

Saif Ali Khan's mother and veteran actress Sharmila Tagore was clicked outside Lilavati Hospital as she arrived to meet Nawab of Pataudi a day after the attack. Reportedly, the veteran actress was supposed to attend a programme in Kolkata but cancelled the plan post the attack.

In a recent update in Saif Ali Khan's attack case, an accused in the matter has reportedly been arrested by the cops. To note, Mumbai police has been aggressively investigating the case since yesterday

Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) has condemned the attack on Saif Ali Khan which took place on January 16. The official statement read as, "We are deeply saddened to know the inhuman stabbing attack on our beloved hero, Mr. Saif Ali Khan during night at his residence in Bandra (West). We are at a loss to know the attacker how he reached the 12th floor of Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s flat and waited for the attack and stabbed him causing injuries to his hand, neck and spine. There seems to be the lapse of security in his building. The timely treatment by the surgeons and doctors at Lilavati Hospital has saved his life, and he is out of danger. We, at IFTDA condemn the deadly attack on Mr. Saif Ali Khan and pray to the Almighty for his fast recovery"

As Kangana Ranaut's much talked about release Emergency has hit the theatres, SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) has demanded a ban on the film in Punjab. SGPC has written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stating Emergency tarnishes the image of Sikhs and will spark outrage and anger in Sikh community.
