Police on Friday told a court here that they needed to conduct facial recognition test of the Bangladeshi man arrested for allegedly stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan to ascertain that he was the person seen in the CCTV footage. While the magistrate's court extended the police custody of Shareeful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir (30) till January 29, defence lawyers questioned the actor's version of the incident, asking why he did not call police immediately. Fakir was arrested on January 19 for allegedly breaking into Saif Ali Khan's 12th floor flat in Bandra for robbery three days earlier, and stabbing the actor multiple times when confronted.

Javed Akhtar on Friday said he is happy that Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has recovered following a knife attack at his residence last week. "All of us were extremely concerned. And I'm happy that he has come back from the hospital," Akhtar told PTI on the sideline of the convocation ceremony of filmmaking institute Whistling Wood.

As there have been reports about Sara Ali Khan dating actor-model Arjun Pratap Bajwa, the latter has finally addressed the rumours and told Team Varinder Chawla, "So, whatever people have to write, they will write. That’s their job. They’re doing their job. I just focus on myself and what I have to do, and it doesn’t really bother me".

In a recent update in Saif Ali Khan's attack case, the father of the accused claimed that his son has been falsely implicated in the case. He also clamed that his son Mohammad Shehzad Fakir does not resemble the suspect captured in the CCTV footage. Despite the gravity of the accusations against his son, Fakir insisted that he hadn't received any communication from the police.
