Sid Makkar Exclusive: Actor Sid Makkar, known for his versatile performances across films, television, and web series, is enjoying a fresh wave of appreciation for his latest release Saiyaara. In an exclusive chat with Filmibeat, Sid spoke about the changing dynamics of the entertainment industry, his bond with debutant Ahaan Panday, and the kind of iconic roles he dreams of portraying on screen.

SID MAKKAR SHARES EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITH AHAAN PANDAY IN SAIYAARA

Reflecting on the evolving nature of the acting industry, Sid Makkar shared, "When I started as an actor, the competition was 5 guys for a part. Today it's 50-of which 20 are genuinely good. So yes, it's very competitive, harder to stand out, and one has to constantly improve and reinvent."

Speaking about his experience on Saiyaara, Sid recalled a fun moment when he first met Ahaan Panday, who plays the lead in the film. "After I got the part, I realised Ahaan and I work out at the same gym. I didn't know who he was. One day I walked up to him and said, 'Hi, I'm Vinit Rawal, your Boss,' and he was stunned for a few seconds."

Sid praised Ahaan for his curiosity and dedication, saying, "He's such a good-hearted fellow. Always asking questions about acting, scenes, how I prepare... It was energizing working with a curious newcomer. After the cast and crew screening, we had a long chat, and I gave him honest feedback. He's got a dream launch, and I'm happy for him."

With Saiyaara earning praise, Sid is humble yet grounded. "I'm not used to this. Usually, I get a few good reviews, some critical acclaim... My high will be if or when it leads to other good work. Then it'll be a victory for me. Time will tell."

SID MAKKAR REVEALS HIS DREAM ROLE; OPEN FOR TV TOO

When asked about a role he would love to reprise, Sid didn't hesitate. "I would love to work in an Amitabh Bachchan film like Deewar-in a modern setting, much like how Dev D was to Devdas. While many say I resemble Shashi Kapoor, I'd love to take on Mr. Bachchan's role in Deewar."

Sid maintains a flexible and passion-driven approach to his craft. "I'm at a stage in life where I'm open to it all-TV, OTT, films. No self-imposed restrictions. It's been my undoing in the past. All I want is to keep acting regularly, get better, and work in all kinds of creative and commercial setups."
