Mahesh Jirawala Death Confirmed: The tragic Ahmedabad plane crash has claimed the life of Gujarati filmmaker Mahesh Kalawadia, also known as Mahesh Jirawala. Initially reported missing near Shahibaug on the day of the incident, his death was later confirmed. The crash, one of the deadliest in recent history, resulted in 241 passenger and crew fatalities, along with 29 casualties on the ground.

Authorities discovered a burnt Activa scooter at the crash site, which belonged to Jirawala. This discovery, along with his mobile phone being last tracked to the location before it was switched off, suggested his involvement in the tragedy. These clues led to suspicions that he was among those who perished.

Identity Confirmation and Family's Reaction

Despite initial reluctance from Jirawala's family to accept his body due to overwhelming grief and disbelief, DNA test results eventually confirmed his identity. The police provided compelling evidence, including the Activa's chassis number and DNA report, which helped console the family and led them to claim his body.

In total, 231 DNA matches have been made related to the Ahmedabad crash. Of these, 210 bodies have been returned to their families. The victims include 155 Indians, 36 British nationals, seven Portuguese citizens, one Canadian, and nine locals.
