Filmmaker Manish Gupta Accused Of Stabbing His Driver Over Salary Dispute
Filmmaker Manish Gupta is embroiled in legal trouble following accusations of stabbing his driver during a salary dispute. The incident has prompted an FIR by Mumbai police as investigations continue into the matter.

Filmmaker Manish Gupta faces legal trouble after his driver, Mohammad Lashkar, accused him of stabbing during a salary dispute. The incident occurred on June 5 at Gupta's Versova residence. Mumbai police filed an FIR against Gupta the following day. The altercation reportedly began over unpaid wages, escalating into violence.
Lashkar, aged 38, had been employed by Gupta for three years, earning ₹23,000 monthly. According to the FIR, Lashkar frequently received his salary late. In May, he was not paid at all and was dismissed on May 30. On June 3, Lashkar contacted Gupta regarding his pending salary.
Salary Dispute Escalates
Gupta allegedly promised payment if Lashkar returned to work. Trusting this assurance, Lashkar resumed duties on June 4 but still did not receive his salary. Tensions rose the next day when Lashkar inquired again about his dues while at Gupta's office around 8:30 p.m.
This inquiry reportedly infuriated Gupta, leading to a heated exchange. Allegedly, Gupta then grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Lashkar in the torso. Despite being injured, Lashkar managed to exit the office and sought help from nearby individuals.
Immediate Aftermath
A fellow driver and the building's watchman assisted Lashkar. He then took an auto-rickshaw to Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle West for medical treatment. Once stable, he proceeded to file a complaint at the Versova police station.
The police registered charges against Manish Gupta under sections 118(2), 115(2), and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. These charges include causing grievous hurt with a dangerous weapon and using insulting words likely to cause a breach of peace.
Ongoing Investigation
No arrests have been made yet as investigations continue. Manish Gupta is known for directing films like "Rahasya" and "The Stoneman Murders." He has not publicly commented on these allegations so far.
