Upon receiving the tragic news, Govinda immediately went to support Prabhu's grieving family. Later that evening, he was seen tearfully bidding farewell to his dear friend and confidant.

Govinda and Shashi Prabhu shared a bond that extended beyond professional ties. They had been close since Govinda's early days in Bollywood. Shashi Sinha, another of Govinda's secretaries, revealed that Prabhu was not only a colleague but also a childhood friend. "From the very beginning, they shared a close bond," Sinha said.

Govinda's Emotional Farewell

The funeral took place at 10 PM on March 6, 2025. Govinda stayed with the family until the last moment to offer his support. During the ceremony, he was visibly emotional and held onto a family member of Prabhu, ensuring she felt supported during such a difficult time.

Prabhu had been dealing with health issues prior to his passing. According to Sinha, he had undergone heart surgery just four days before his death. On March 6, he fell in the bathroom at his home in Niranjan Society, Chikuwadi, Borivali. Sadly, when family members tried to help him, he did not respond and passed away around 4:15 PM.

A Bond Beyond Work

Govinda's relationship with Prabhu was akin to that of brothers. Sinha mentioned that during Govinda's early struggles in the film industry, Prabhu was like a brother to him. "Govinda loved him like a brother," Sinha added.

The actor's grief was evident as he attended the funeral and offered condolences to Prabhu's family. His presence provided comfort during this heartbreaking moment for those who knew and loved Prabhu.
