Vicky Kaushal Said No To Blockbuster: Vicky Kaushal has become the talk of the town after Chhaava emerged to be the biggest hit of 2025 surpassing the collection of many other blockbuster films like Baahubali: The Beginning, Sultan, Salaar: Part 1, Padmaavat, PK, Dhoom 3, among many others. The historical movie, which revolves around the life Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is gearing up to make a place in the list of top 10 highest-grossing Indian films in history. While this marks the first blockbuster movie of Vicky Kaushal's career, did you know there could be another blockbuster film in Vicky Kaushal's kitty apart from Chhaava? Reportedly Vicky Kaushal said no to a franchise, which is now gearing up for the threequel after the second part made more than Rs. 800 Cr at the box office.
Guess Which Movie Vicky Kaushal Said No To?
According to the reports, Vicky Kaushal said no to Stree back in 2018, directed by Amar Kaushik. It was Vicky Kaushal, who was the makers' first choice to play Vicky, played by Rajkummar Rao. The movie also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, among others. During an appearance on Neha Dhupia's BFFs with Vogue, Vicky Kaushal was asked to pick a movie he regrets rejecting, to which Vicky answered, "Stree, that was because I was doing Manmarziyaan (at the same time)."
For the unversed, Manmarziyan didn't do well at the box office, however, Stree became one of the highest-grossers of the year. Later, Stree 2, which was released in 2024, became the 11th highest-grossing films in Indian cinema, turning Rajkummar Rao's career in a different direction for the better. Stree franchise is also coming with a threequel, which is slated to release in August 13, 2027.
Surprisingly, Chhaava and Stree both are produced by Dinesh Vijan under the production banner of Maddock Films.
