Gujarat-Born Actor Anshul Trivedi Mourns Victims

Bollywood actor Anshul Trivedi, hailing from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, expressed profound grief after the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI 171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 people, which went down shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport en route to London Gatwick.

In a post shared on his social media, Trivedi conveyed his sorrow in deeply emotional words that echoed the sentiment felt by millions across the nation. He said, "Today, I'm reminded how fragile this one life truly is. To all those souls who departed suddenly-may your journey be guided by light. And to those left behind-may time hold your hearts gently. This is not just a tragedy. It is a reminder. A reminder to speak your love out loud. A reminder to live today like it matters. A reminder that the next breath is never promised. Let us not waste this life in pettiness, resentment, or ego. Let us live wide open-with love, with grace, with gratitude. Om Shanti."

Anshul Trivedi, originally from Gujarat, stands among the celebrities from the state to publicly respond, his heartfelt message resonating strongly with grieving families and wider audiences.

According to official reports, the aircraft crashed into a residential area near the airport, striking a doctors' hostel at B.J. Medical College. More than 100 people have been confirmed dead, and many more injured, as rescue teams continue operations.

Flight AI 171 had departed from runway 23 at 1:39 PM IST (0809 GMT), issued a "Mayday" alert shortly thereafter, but lost communication within minutes. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner-entered service in 2011-had not previously suffered a fatal crash, making this a troubling first in its history.

Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation, with Boeing, GE Aerospace, and Indian aviation safety teams examining flight data and conducting on-ground inquiries. Meanwhile, support from both the Indian and British sides is being mobilized-international leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UK PM Keir Starmer have expressed condolences.
