Haq Overseas Review: Emraan Hashmi has been on a roll this year and there are no second thoughts about it. After starting the year with Ground Zero and then Pawan Kalayan starrer They Call Him OG, Emraan is now making headlines for his upcoming release. We are talking about Haq. Directed by Suparn Verma, Haq is a courtroom drama which also features Yami Gautam, Paridhi Sharma, Danish Hussain, Sheeba Chadha etc in key roles. To note, Haq marks Emraan's first collaboration with Yami and their fresh chemistry has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs
For the uninitiated, Haq is inspired by the landmark Supreme Court judgement of Mohd. Ahmed Khan vs Shah Bano Begum. To note, Emraan plays the role of Mohd. Ahmed Khan while Yami is seen in the role of Ahmed Khan's wife Shazia Bano. To note, Haq has managed to create a massive buzz in the town for its impressive star cast and intriguing plot. In fact, the movie witnessed rave reviews from the initial premiere adding to the audience's excitement. And now, as Haq is set to hit the screens on November 7, here's the overseas review of the film
Haq Overseas Review
Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, self proclaimed Dubai based critic gave Haq a 4 star rating and tweeted, "MINDBLOWING! #EmraanHashmi & #YamiGautam gave Career Best Performance & National Award 🥉 Worthy performance! What an engaging thriller. Speechless". Another tweet called Haq a meaningful movie wherein Yami gave her best performance and read as, "It's an Heart-touching a woman rights drama movie in a Interesting way. #EmraanHashmi looking dashing and he did a great job, but #YamiGautam gave her career's best performance till date."
Meanwhile, during a conversation with HT, Yami was quizzed if she was hesitant about taking up the controversial topic, to which she said, "Controversy, debate, discussion - that is not the first thought as an artiste. It's always how I feel after reading the script. Of course, it's the powerful story of a very courageous woman back in the 1980s. Today, there are multiple conversations to express what we want, what can be done to make things better. Back in the day, there was nothing of that sort. That woman did it without the intent of making it controversial, but just to literally do what every mother does for their child. How can she provide the best for her children? I thought Haq was a wonderfully written script".
