Haq Star Emraan Hashmi Shares Update About Awarapan 2; Says 'It's Got Crazy Music & Intense Scenes'

Emraan Hashmi has provided an update on the much-anticipated sequel, Awarapan 2. Amidst Bollywood's trend of sequels, this film is eagerly awaited by fans. The actor, preparing for his new release Haq, clarified that the sequel isn't being made just to leverage its existing fan base.

During a conversation with Zoom, Hashmi revealed some details about the project. "I think I'll be shooting for it. I'm going to shoot again next month," he stated. He added that the film features intense scenes and captivating music but remained tight-lipped about further specifics, urging fans to discover more upon watching.

Emraan Hashmi Discusses Awarapan 2's Development

The actor shared insights into the film's development process. "Awarapan has been in discussion for almost six years," he said. There were talks before COVID-19 about reviving Shivam's character despite his apparent demise in the original film. In 2022, a script by his friend Bilal finally aligned perfectly with their vision.

Hashmi emphasised that the sequel isn't just riding on Awarapan's cult status. "It doesn't just do it to capitalise on Awarapan or its cult following — which it has, by the way," he explained. The film has evoked a deep emotional response from audiences over eight years, with some even getting tattoos inspired by it.

Intent Behind Awarapan 2

The actor believes audiences can discern when a movie lacks authenticity and is merely exploiting trends. He stated, "Eventually, which films work and which don't is not in your hands." What truly matters is having honest intentions and ensuring everything feels right before proceeding with a project.

Meanwhile, Hashmi's latest venture, Haq, is set to hit theatres soon. Produced by Junglee Pictures, it features Yami Gautam alongside him. As fans eagerly await both releases, Hashmi continues to captivate audiences with his diverse roles and dedication to meaningful storytelling.
