Hera Pheri 3: Akshay Kumar Confirms Priyadarshan's Film Is Back On Track; Says 'We Are Back Together'

Akshay Kumar has confirmed that the much-loved comedy film, Hera Pheri 3, is back on track. The original trio, including Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, will reunite for this third instalment. Initially, Paresh Rawal had announced his departure from the project. However, Akshay Kumar has clarified that all legal matters have been resolved, allowing the film to proceed.

The sequel to the 2000 hit Hera Pheri, titled Phir Hera Pheri, was released in 2006. Fans have eagerly awaited the return of characters Shyam, Raju, and Baburao ever since. This year brought uncertainty due to legal issues and mixed messages from the cast and crew. In an interview with The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra Season 2, Akshay Kumar addressed these concerns.

Akshay Kumar's Assurance

"Nahi, yeh publicity stunt nahi hai [It is not a publicity stunt]," Akshay stated firmly. He explained that when legal matters are involved, it cannot be dismissed as a mere publicity stunt. He reassured fans by saying everything is now resolved: "But ab sab kuch thik ho gaya hai [Everything is okay now]. Very soon, some kind of announcement can come."

Akshay acknowledged there were challenges but emphasised that they are back together as a team. "Yes, there were some ups and downs," he admitted. "But now everything is solved, and we are back together, and we have always been together." His words have brought relief to fans who were unsure about the film's future.

The Hera Pheri Legacy

The first two films in the Hera Pheri series were penned by the late Neeraj Vora. He also directed the sequel. Priyadarshan will return to direct this third instalment of the comedy franchise. While Tabu featured in the original film, Bipasha Basu and Rimi Sen joined for the second one. Details about the rest of Hera Pheri 3's cast remain under wraps.
