Hera Pheri 3 Controversy: Paresh Rawal Exits Over Fee Clause Dispute? Refunds Rs 11 Lakh To Akshay Kumar

Paresh Rawal's exit from Hera Pheri 3 marks a significant turn in the film's production. He returned his signing fee amidst a Rs 25 crore lawsuit from Akshay Kumar's production company, raising concerns among fans about the film's future.

Hera Pheri 3 Controversy Update: Paresh Rawal has officially parted ways with the much-anticipated sequel, Hera Pheri 3. Reports indicate that he has returned his signing amount to the film's producers, marking the end of his involvement. The buzz surrounding his exit is growing, especially after Akshay Kumar's production company filed a lawsuit against him for Rs 25 crore due to his departure.

The veteran actor handed back Rs 11 lakhs, which he initially received as a signing fee. Additionally, he included 15 percent annual interest and a bit more to compensate for leaving the project. This information was shared by Bollywood Hungama, highlighting Rawal's decision to step away from the film.

Paresh Rawal's Contractual Terms

An insider disclosed that Rawal's total remuneration for Hera Pheri 3 was set at Rs 15 crores. His term sheet contained an unusual clause stating that he would receive the remaining Rs 14.89 crores only one month after the film's release. With principal shooting expected next year and a release date possibly in late 2026 or even 2027, this delay did not sit well with him.

"Paresh Rawal was paid Rs. 11 lakhs as a signing amount as per the term sheet. His total fees were locked at Rs. 15 crores. The term sheet mentioned that Paresh Rawal would receive the balance amount – Rs. 14.89 crores – only one month after the release of the film," stated a source.

Legal Dispute and Production Delays

The prolonged wait for payment led Rawal to withdraw from the project, resulting in legal issues between him and Akshay Kumar's Cape of Good Films. The production house has reportedly sued him for Rs 25 crores over this matter.

Meanwhile, trade insiders have noted that only a promo shoot for Hera Pheri 3 has been completed so far. This was reportedly done on the sets of Bhooth Bangla with that film's crew, indicating potential delays in full-scale production.

Fan Expectations and Uncertain Future

The original Hera Pheri (2000) and its sequel Phir Hera Pheri (2006) are considered cult classics, with Rawal's portrayal of Baburao earning immense fan admiration. Naturally, expectations for the third installment have been sky-high, but recent developments have left fans uncertain about its future.

As fans eagerly await updates on Hera Pheri 3, Paresh Rawal’s exit adds another layer of complexity to its production journey. The situation remains fluid as both parties navigate their legal dispute while fans hope for clarity on what lies ahead for this beloved franchise.
