Directed by Priyadarshan, the third installment of the much-loved Hera Pheri franchise was set to reunite the OG trio Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty reprising their iconic characters 'Raju', 'Baburao' and 'Shyam' respectively. While we were eagerly waiting for its official announcement or teaser video, Paresh Rawal's sudden exit left everyone shocked, sparking a whirlwind of speculations about why he walked out of the film.

Following Paresh Rawal's shocking announcement of his exit from Hera Pheri 3, netizens started speculating if he had any 'creative differences' with director Priyadarshan. Later, the veteran actor clarified in another tweet that it wasn't the reason.

Taking to Twitter (now 'X'), Rawal wrote, "I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENT WITH THE FILM MAKER . I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan the film director. (sic)"

Recently, talking to Mid-Day, Paresh Rawal himself revealed the real reason why he decided to walk out of Hera Pheri 3. "I know it came as a shock to many. We three make a great combination with Priyadarshanji directing us, but the fact is that I opted out because today I don't feel like a part of it, (sic)" the actor told the portal.

Is there still hope for Paresh Rawal's return in Hera Pheri 3 in the future? The actor replied, "It is final for the time being. I always say never say never for anything. One cannot predict what happens in the future. (sic)"

Is Hera Pheri 3 Still Happening?

Paresh Rawal's abrupt exit has sparked uncertainty around the film. Meanwhile, the makers are yet to announce if they will rope in another actor as 'Babu Bhaiya' and go ahead without him or if they will pause the production stage for now.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Suniel Shetty revealed what made Hera Pheri films special was the chemistry between the three lead characters. He further agreed the film wouldn't work if any one of the characters was removed. "If it was Hera Pheri, If it wasn't Babu Bhai (Paresh Rawal) and Raju (Akshay Kumar), Shyam (Suniel Shetty) wouldn't exist, and Shyam has no meaning. And you take any one of them out, and the film doesn't work, (sic)" he said.

Will Akshay Kumar Sue Paresh Rawal Over 'Unprofessional' Conduct?

According to Pinkvilla, Akshay Kumar is disappointed with Paresh Rawal over his sudden exit. As reported by the portal, Kumar has sent a legal notice of Rs 25 cr to Paresh Rawal, through his production house 'Cape of Good Films', over his "unprofessional behavior" and leaving Hera Pheri 3 in a lurch after signing a legal contract.

A source informed the portal, "Cape of Good Films had procured the rights of Hera Pheri 3 from multiple stakeholders, and even repaid all the debts existing on the film. The amount splurged was in crores, as the intent was to get back Hera Pheri on the big screen after 20 years to the audience. Paresh's unprofessional behaviour has cost a bomb to the film. Hindi Film Industry has gone the Hollywood way, as the producers are no longer kowtowing to the demands of actors. In the modern world, contracts are in place to avoid situations like this, and actors backing out at the last minute spells danger. (sic)"

"All the amounts invested by Cape of Good Films, to make a debt-free product, was done only after the OG trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty had agreed to be a part of the third Hera Pheri film. In-fact, Hera Pheri 3 also went on floors as the team reunited to shoot for an extremely funny announcement video. The one-day shoot also resulted in an investment of money and all of that stands still at the moment, as Paresh Rawal has decided to take a backseat, all of a sudden. The act is unprofessional, and uncalled for. Paresh has given no logical reason for his exit to the team, leaving everyone furious and disappointed. Why should a producer suffer due to an unprofessional exit of another actor? He has to pay for the losses caused by sudden exit, (sic)" the source concluded.
