Housefull 5: Director Tarun Reacts To Laal Pari Plagiarism; Says 'No Intention To Harm Anyone Or Steal'
Director Tarun Mansukhani addresses dancer Sandip Brahamin's plagiarism allegations regarding the song Laal Pari from Housefull 5, clarifying that there was no intention to steal his dance moves.

Director Tarun Mansukhani has addressed allegations of plagiarism concerning the song "Laal Pari" from Housefull 5. Dancer Sandip Brahamin claims the film's makers copied his 'signature hat move' without crediting him. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh, is performing well at the box office but faces controversy over these accusations.
Sandip Brahamin expressed his disappointment through social media, stating that his dance move was used in the song without acknowledgment. He posted a reel on Instagram and YouTube highlighting this issue. "They have copied my moves but they haven't mentioned my name, they haven't credited me," he said.
Director's Response to Allegations
In response to these claims, Tarun Mansukhani told News18 Showsha that he was unaware of Sandip's work before the song's release. "I did read up something about that. To be honest, I hadn't seen his videos before," he explained. He acknowledged that someone might have seen Sandip's moves and thought it would be a great addition to the song.
Mansukhani further stated that if he had known about Sandip earlier, he would have invited him to choreograph the song himself. "There was no intention to harm anyone or steal anything," he remarked. He expressed regret over the situation and emphasized that there was no deliberate attempt at plagiarism.
Choreography and Box Office Success
The choreography for "Laal Pari" was done by Remo D'Souza. Despite the controversy, Housefull 5 has been successful at the box office, entering the Rs 100 crore club shortly after its release on June 5. The film continues to perform well globally.
Mansukhani shared his excitement about returning to theatres after 17 years with this film. "It feels fantastic because I came back to the theatres after 17 years," he said. His last theatrical release was Dostana in 2008. The director expressed gratitude for the positive reception and support from audiences worldwide.
Gratitude Amidst Controversy
Mansukhani reflected on the journey of making Housefull 5 over two years and its acceptance by audiences during a challenging time for cinemas. "More than being happy, we're grateful," he shared. He appreciated those who enjoyed the film and sent positive feedback through messages and calls.
The director reiterated that there was no intention of causing harm or engaging in plagiarism with Sandip Brahamin's dance move. He expressed sincere apologies if Sandip felt wronged by the situation.
