IKKIS FIRST REVIEW IS OUT

Earlier slated to clash with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday starrer Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri on December 25, Ikkis makers delayed its release by a week amid the ongoing Dhurandhar wave. The war drama has been grabbing eyeballs as audiences look forward to its theatrical release on January 1.

An early, unofficial review of the film has surfaced online and quickly grabbed the attention of movie lovers. The review has sparked discussions and curiosity, making many eager to know more about the film's content and performances. Ahead of its theatrical release, the makers of Ikkis hosted a special screening in Mumbai recently.

Following the screening, the film has received its first review, shared by casting director Mukesh Chhabra. Calling Ikkis a 'heartwarming' film, he wrote, "Just watched Ikkis - a film made purely from the heart. Gentle, honest storytelling that stays with you long after it ends."

He added, "Dharmendra sir... what grace, what depth. If this is your last film, it truly breaks the heart. You've left us with something deeply emotional and important. You will be missed, sir. And Jaideep Ahlawat - hats off. I genuinely didn't expect this, and I'm glad to be surprised. A warm welcome to Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia - both were beautiful on screen."

IKKIS OVERVIEW: PLOT, CAST DETAILS

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis is a powerful war drama inspired by the real-life story of Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. Unlike Raghavan's usual suspense thrillers, this film takes a different path by focusing on emotions, patriotism, sacrifice, and strong family ties.

The film traces Arun Khetarpal's life and heroic sacrifice during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, especially the Battle of Basantar. At just 21 years of age, Arun showed unmatched courage on the battlefield, destroying multiple enemy tanks before laying down his life for the country. His bravery earned him India's highest military honour, making him the youngest soldier to receive the Param Vir Chakra.

Ikkis is expected to showcase intense war scenes and large-scale tank battles while also exploring Arun's personal journey. The narrative moves from his days as a cadet at the National Defence Academy to his transformation into a fearless war hero. Alongside the battlefield action, the film also highlights his bond with his family and includes a subtle romantic track, adding emotional depth to the story.

Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, steps into the role of Arun Khetarpal. The actor, who made his debut with Netflix's The Archies in 2023, takes on one of the most challenging roles of his career with this biopic.

Late actor Dharmendra plays Arun's father, M.L. Khetarpal, marking one of his most emotional performances. The supporting cast features Jaideep Ahlawat as a Pakistani Army officer and Sikandar Kher as an Indian Army officer. Ekavali Khanna essays the role of Maryam Nisar, while Simar Bhatia is seen as Kiran. The ensemble also includes Kunal Mann, Shree Bishnoi, Mohan Godara, and Aryan Pushkar in key roles.
