Meet India's Richest Celeb Hairstylist Who Once Had Rs 13 In Back Account

Today, we are talking about India's richest celebrity hairstylist/hairdresser who came into this business to carry forward his father's legacy. He is none other than B-Town's favourite hairstylist Aalim Hakim. His father, Hakim Karianvi, was a famous hairstylist back in the day and had worked with some of the popular legendary actos like Dilip Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan and Sashi Kapoor among others. But when he'd passed away at the age of 39, the responsibility fell upon 9-year-old Aalim Hakim's shoulders. It was then when Aalim decided to carry his father's legacy forward. During that time, they had only Rs 13 left in the back account.

In Maniesh Paul's podcast, the celeb hairstylist was quoted saying, "I wanted to carry forward my father's name. I wanted to do start from where he stopped. He was Hakim. I wanted to add my name to him - Hakim's Aalim, and make it a brand. (sic)"

In an interview with Brut, he also opened up on his struggles and stated, "I used to go back my home and work, my work place was at my home, which was in the balcony of my house and there was only one small fan. So, I collected a little bit of money and bought a second hand air conditioner and at that time the second hand air conditioner was also for Rs 30,000, so my monthly installment was Rs 2,000 or Rs 3,000 for the AC. Once, I finished that EMIs, I felt like, I am a rich guy, I have got a salon, barber shop which is air conditioned barbershop. I felt very proud in 1990s (sic)."

From B-Town stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Hrithik Roshan to south superstars Mahesh Babu, Prabhas and cricketers Ms Dhoni and Virat Kohli among others, Aalim Hakim often breaks the internet with edgy pics of his celeb clients. According to reports, Aalim Hakim now charges minimum Rs 1 lakhs for a haircut.

During an interview, he once revealed, "My fee is very simple which everybody know How much I charge. So, it starts from Rs 1 lakh. That's the minimum. (sic)"
