Amid rising tensions due to Pakistan's drone attacks on India, singer Vishal Mishra has declared he will boycott Turkey and Azerbaijan. Public figures are joining him in urging caution, reflecting growing dissatisfaction with Turkey's support for Pakistan.

India vs Pakistan Update: Singer Vishal Mishra has taken a firm stand amidst rising diplomatic tensions. Following Pakistan's drone attacks on India, he declared he would never visit Turkey or Azerbaijan. "Never ever going to #Turkey and #Azerbaijan! No leisure no concerts! Mark My Words! Never!!" he posted online. This statement comes after reports confirmed that Turkish-made drones were used in the attacks.
Pakistan's drone strikes targeted both civilian and military sites across India. These actions followed India's Operation Sindoor, a response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which resulted in 26 fatalities. The situation has led to increased calls for boycotts of Turkey and Azerbaijan due to their support for Pakistan.
Public Figures and Companies Urge Boycott
In response to these developments, several public figures and companies have advised against traveling to Turkey and Azerbaijan. Nishant Pitti, Chairman of EaseMyTrip, recommended avoiding these countries unless absolutely necessary. He cited the Pahalgam attack and ongoing tensions as reasons for caution.
Television actor Kushal Tandon shared a personal story about his mother's canceled trip to Turkey. Despite losing non-refundable expenses, she decided not to proceed with her plans as a form of protest. "My mom and her friends were planning to go next month, and now they have cancelled their whole trip," Kushal wrote.
Backlash Against Turkish Airlines
Turkish Airlines is facing significant backlash from Indian users online. Many are calling for a boycott of the airline, urging others not to fly with them due to Turkey's stance in the conflict. The sentiment reflects growing dissatisfaction with Turkey's support for Pakistan.
According to Reuters, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reached out to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif following India's military operation. Erdogan praised Pakistan's "calm and restrained policies" during this period of heightened tension.
The Turkish Presidency noted that Erdogan expressed willingness to help de-escalate tensions through diplomatic channels. "Erdogan stated that Turkey was ready to do what it could to prevent the tensions from escalating," they reported.
The situation remains tense as diplomatic efforts continue amid calls for boycotts and protests against Turkey and Azerbaijan's support for Pakistan.
