Produced by Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions, Wake Up Sid was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 18 cr and went on to gross a total amount of Rs 45 cr worldwide in its lifetime theatrical run, as per Bollywood Hungama. In India, the movie had netted around Rs 27.95 cr.

In a recent interview with Zoom, Wake Up Sid's Aisha, Konkona Sensharma, finally reacted to the possibilities of a sequel to her much-loved film with Ranbir Kapoor.

The Metro In Dino actress replied, "Sequel can sometimes be a little tricky. I have come across films that I have loved, but a sequel may not work out. Many times, people say Mr And Mrs Iyer or Wake Up Sid ka sequel [chahiye] but I feel it is tricky for a sequel, especially when the first one is loved so much. Living up to it is tricky."

"Metro...In Dino is not a proper sequel. It is a different character and story. The film is hyperlinked cinema and a band; there are four stories. Besides that, there's no connection at all," she added.

For those unversed, Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino, starring a dynamic ensemble including names like Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sensharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher in the lead, is all set to hit cinemas tomorrow (Friday, July 4).
