Jombieland: Actor Binnu Dhillon Unveils Character Poster As ‘Jeeti’, Punjab’s First Zombie Comedy

Jombieland Actor Binnu Dhillon Unveils Character Poster

The makers of Jombieland, Punjab's first zombie comedy, have revealed a new character poster featuring Binnu Dhillon as Jeeti. Known for his roles in hit films like Carry on Jatta, Maujaan Hi Maujaan, and Gaddi Jaandi Ae Chalaangaan Maardi, Dhillon now headlines this unique "zom-com" alongside Kanika Mann, Angira Dhar, and debutant actor-singer G Khan. The film is all set to hit cinemas on 13th June.

"Jombieland takes viewers to a colourful village thrown into chaos by the deadly Z1N1 virus, which sparks an unexpected zombie apocalypse. Amidst the madness, the story follows Jeeti and Koko, two lovers battling family opposition to be together - until their fight for love turns into a desperate fight for survival," said Dhillon while describing the premise of the film.

Shot entirely in Punjab, the film is directed by Thaparr, who spent five to six years developing the script. Speaking about his initial hesitation and eventual decision to join the project, Dhillon shared,
"I was initially unsure-it's experimental cinema, a first for Punjabi films. But the story convinced me. With strong performances by G Khan, Kanika Maan, and Angira Dhar, and a standout soundtrack, it's a bold step for the industry. Releasing on 13th June, it reflects the creative evolution of Punjabi cinema. I believe audiences will appreciate this fresh approach."

Dhillon, who is known for bringing humor and heart to his roles, emphasized the changing tastes of audiences:
"Audience preferences are constantly evolving-be it characters or storylines. At its heart, cinema is about entertainment, and when done right, it connects deeply. Our team has created a film that holds attention for two hours, with a strong storyline, engaging music, and solid production. Viewers today expect variety and humor, which is why I'm always exploring new characters. In this film, set in a zombie-infested village, I've taken on something fresh. It's pure entertainment, and we're excited to release it on 13th June."

Sharing his approach to choosing roles, he added:
"I start every project by evaluating the script and the story's strength. Then I look at the screenplay, the director's vision, and the cast. Everything needs to align. Like selecting pearls for a perfect garland, each element matters. I also consider if the character fits me-visually and emotionally. Only then do I say yes."

Jombieland also features Guri, Dhanveer Singh, and Jassa Dhillon, and is produced by Neeraj Ruhil and Subhav Sharma under the banner of Next Level Productions. The film is the first part of a planned trilogy and will be released in five languages - Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam - marking a bold new direction for regional Indian cinema.
