Kajol, Raveena Tandon, Shweta Bachchan- Celebrities Attend Laila Khan Furniturewalla Solo Art Show

Artist Laila Khan Furniturewalla presented her solo art show 'UNTAMED HEART', after a hiatus of 18 years, featuring a deeply personal body of work exploring identity, emotion, and transformation.
The showcase opened with an exclusive preview at Snowball Studios on April 4, 2025 with family Fardeen Khan, Sanjay Khan, Sussanne Khan, Alaya F, Simone & Ajay Arora, Farah Khan Ali.
Also present were Arti & Kailash Surendranath, Kajol, Ravena Tandon, Shweta Bachchan, Kajal Anand, Anu Deewan, Neelam & Sameer Soni, Esha Deol. Tushar Kapoor, Veteran Actor Ranjeet, Javed Jaaferi, Politician Aditya Thackeray, Ashish Shelar (Cabinet Minister of Information Technology & Cultural affairs Maharashtra), Asif & Seher Bhamla, Alvira Agnihotri, Pragya & Abhishek Kapoor, Nandita Mahtani, Pooja Bedi, Renu Chainani, Penny Patel, Surily Goel, Jaya Raheja, Queenie Singh, Tanaz Doshi, Avantikka Kilachand, Gayathri Shah, Dilshad Khambatta, Mozez Singh, Sujay Jairaj, Ramona Narang, Sandhali & Kiran Salaskar, Prerna Goel, Jimmy Mistry, Shaina Nc, Arjun Khanna, Arzan Khambatta, Mallika Sagar, Kalpana Shah of Tao Art Gallery, Uma Nair, in attendance alongside collectors, artists, and members of the art community.
Through layered pigments, reflective materials, and sculptural expression, Laila's portraits examined internal conflicts, self-reflection, and the passage of time. The exhibition, which moved from figuration to abstraction, invited viewers into a space of contemplation and raw expression.
Trained at the Slade School of Fine Art and Central Saint Martins in London, Laila has exhibited in India and internationally. Her past solo shows, including those at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, Rossi & Rossi Gallery in London, and ICIA, Mumbai, amongst many others, have all been sell-out exhibitions. Her works continue to be part of major auctions, fundraisers, and private collections.

Uma Nair, a renowned art curator, author and critic with over 35 years of experience, who has followed Laila's journey for two decades brings her perspective on Laila's artistic evolution, critiquing the depth, technique, and thematic exploration in the 'UNTAMED HEART'

About Artist Laila Khan Furniturewalla
Laila Khan Furniturewalla is an artist from Mumbai who has embraced art since childhood. She trained at the Slade School of Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in London. Her art is a captivating blend of ancient wisdom and contemporary flair, as she seamlessly integrates traditional materials of the earth like sand, gold leaf, copper, pigment & acrylic into modern abstract compositions that explore spiritual themes and the intersection of tradition and innovation.
Since 2001, she has exhibited widely - in solo shows at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, the India Art Show at Rossi & Rossi Gallery in London, and "Dreams Have No Titles" at ICIA, Kala Ghoda in 2007, as well as in events like the "Art for Freedom" auction in London (2007), the "Pulse of Abstraction" group show in New York (2012), and the Art of India group show (2024) and charity gala for Tata Memorial Hospital (October 2024)along with numerous other exhibitions, auctions, and fundraisers in India and internationally.
Khan's artistry is a testament to the enduring power of creativity and the endless possibilities of artistic expression as she records her exploration of form, light, and meaning.
