The actress once said in an interview, "I thought, 'What a beautiful name. If I have a daughter, I'll call her Kiara.' But before that I needed a name for myself."

It was a commercial for a baby product. However, Kiara officially made her debut in the films with the movie Fugly in 2014. The movie did not perform well at the box office and was considered a flop. After her unsuccessful debut, Kiara went into a shell. She said, "I thought getting your first film was hard enough, that afterwards, your phone would ring off the hook with offers...until I realized it wasn't going to be like that."
