Maalik Early Review: Rajkummar Delivers His Career Best Performance In Gripping & Unmissable Action Thriller

Maalik Early Review: Rajkummar Rao is one of the most versatile actors in the industry and there are no second thoughts about it. From humour to romance, Rajkummar has proved his mettle time and again on the big screen. After setting box office on fire with Stree 2 in 2024, and creating a massive buzz with Bhool Chuk Maaf this year, the Srikanth actor is now creating headlines for his much anticipated release of the year. We are talking about Maalik which happens to be an action thriller.
Directed by Pulkit, Maalik features Rajkummar in the titular role along with Prosenjit Chatterjee, Manushi Chhillar, Huma Qureshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, Swanand Kirkire and Saurabh Shukla. To note, Maalik is expected to be a story of a man's rise to power in the underworld. The makers had recently unveiled an intriguing trailer of Maalik and it was full of action and drama. Taking to social media, actor turned critic Kuldeep Gadhvi called Maalik a gripping and unmissable watch. He called Maalik a firecracker and wrote, "Maalik delivers full justice to every second. The first half builds strong characters and emotional depth. The second half? It grips like a storm. The tension, the storytelling pace, the power - it explodes like a father-level cinematic moment. The screenplay never loosens its hold. It explores power, corruption, morality, and destiny - with brilliant emotional and action-packed moments".
Furthermore, Kuldeep Gadhvi lauded Rajkummar Rao's stint and called it his career's best performance. Rajkummar Rao - Career Best. He also emphasised that Rajkummar's chemistry with Manushi is refreshing. Kuldeep also emphasised, "Maalik is a cinematic triumph. Bold, gripping, emotional, and unmissable". He gave Maalik a rating of 4.5 stars and revealed that the movie has a runtime of 2 hours and 29 minutes.
Meanwhile, Maalik has been facing consistent comparisons with Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and Allu Arjun's Pushpa. However, in his conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Rajkummar had set the record straight and stated, "Every story has its own soul. We're not trying to replicate anyone. We're telling a story that's raw, real, and rooted in its own world".
