Mamta Kulkarni Expelled Reason From Kinnar Akhara: Mamta Kulkarni has been centre of limelight ever since she has taken 'sanyas' by doing her 'pind daan' in Prayagraj at the ongoing Kumbh Mela 2025. The 90s actress was granted the title of 'Mahamadleshwar' by the Kinnar Akhara earlier this month causing major uproar within the Akhara members. Now, days after this, the newly appointed Mahamandleshwar was expelled from the Akhara amid controvery. Not only Mamta Kulkarni, but Acharya Laxmi Narayan Tripathi has also lost her title of Acharya Mahamandleshwar and is expelled from the Akhara for granting Mamta the title. The founder of the Akhara, Ajay Das, has taken the decision and announced the appointment of new Acharya Mahamandleshwar.

Why Is Mamta Kulkarni Removed As Mahamandleshwar?

After Mamta Kulkarni was granted the Mahamandleshwar title, her appointment wasn't welcomed by many. Transgender Himangi Sakhi Maa raised objection following Kulkarni's appointment and expressed doubts regarding the appointment of Kulkarni. She said, "Mamta Kulkarni has been made Mahamandaleshwar by the Kinnar Akhada for publicity. Society knows her past very well. She was even jailed in the past in connection with drug cases. Suddenly, she arrives in India, participates in the Maha Kumbh, and is given the position of Mahamandaleshwar. This needs investigation."

On the other hand, Acharya Laxmi Narayan Tripathi announced a press conference on Friday afternoon to address the ongoing controversy, and to make an important announcement. She has also stated that all the decisions of Akhara will be made with complete transparency.

Further claiming that Ajay Das is expelled from the Akhara, she said, "Das lives with family and children. They have no place in Kinnar Akhara now. Kinnar Akhara will hold a press conference today at 3 pm."

For the unversed, the Mahamandleshwar title is given to spiritual leaders who play vital role in religious discourse, she stated to media, "I started my penance ('tapasya') in 2000. And I chose Laxmi Narayan Tripathi as my 'pattaguru' because today is Friday... it is the day of Maha Kaali (Goddess Kaali)... Yesterday, preparations were on to make me a mahamandaleshwar. But today Maa Shakti instructed me that I choose Laxmi Narayan Tripathi because that person is a 'saakshaat' (direct) form of Ardhnaareshwar. What else can be a bigger title than an Ardhnaareshwar doing my 'pattabhishek'."
