Are Mumtaz And Mayur Still Married: Popularly known as Mumtaz, the actress's full name is Mumtaz Askari Madhvani. She was born in 1947 to an Iranian family. She accepted having lived in a family that was orthodox. Talking to Aditya Rana, known as 'A see Aadii', from Filmibeat, Mumtaz accepted that after her parent separated, she was raised by her aunt and grandmother, who loved them without limits. "Khali tameez tahjeeb was very important," said Mumtaz.

Mumtaz was primarily an actress of 70s. Back then, she was mesmerized by the look of Shammi Kapoor's charisma. They worked together in movies like 'Brahmachari,' 'Ram Tere Kitne Nam,' 'Vallah Kya Baat Hai,' and 'Thokar.' Mumtaz got married to Mayur Madhavni in 1974. In an exclusive interview with Filmibeat, the veteran actress talked about how her now-husband had to wait for 2 years to get married to her. She said, "It took my husband to wait for 2 years till I finished my signing thing, signing amount maine wapas kiya...kitni picturein maine chor di." Mumtaz gave back the signing amount of around 4-5 films back then in order to leave the acting world and settle down with Mayur.

Talking about her marriage and explaining that she was happy leaving her career to get married, Mumtaz said, "I'm a free bird, i don't have to bother...My husband has given me houses everywhere in the world, so I'm very happy." Mumtaz accepted that she is tempted to work but she is very happy and at very peace with her life. "My husband really keeps me very happy. Mujhe kisi v cheez ki kami nahi krte." However, the actress accepted, "Ek hi cheez ki kami hai ki I hardly see my husband because he never stays anywhere more than 5-10 days. If he's not traveling, then I'm traveling..."

Mumtaz accepted that her husband, Mayur, is very ambitious, therefore keeps on working on new things. As of now, Mumtaz and Mayur are happily married to each other.
