Mumtaz Shammi Kapoor Last Meeting: Veteran actress Mumtaz is not just known for her stupendous acting skills and for giving some iconic films and numbers, but also for her whirlwind romance with Shammi Kapoor whom she even referred to as her first love. The veteran actress was said to be head over heels in love with the Brahmachari actor. While they made a beautiful pair and did want to get married, destiny had other plans. Post their break up, Shammi Kapoor tied the knot with Geeta Bali and then Neila Devi while Mumtaz had an arranged marriage with Mayur Madhvani.

Recently, in an exclusive interview with Filmibeat's Aditya Rana popularly known as A se Aadii, Mumtaz was asked about her last meeting with Shammi Kapoor who passed away in 2011. According to media reports, Shammi Kapoor died of chronic kidney failure. While Mumtaz appeared to be a little emotional, she revealed that she had met the late actor on his birthday in 2010. Mumtaz also emphasised that she was invited by Shammi Kapoor "I went and saw him on his last birthday. Unki wife ne mujhe bulaya and main gayi and that is last I saw him".

Furthermore, Mumtaz also revealed that she didn't even visit Shammi Kapoor when he was in the hospital during his last days. The veteran actress asserted that she couldn't gather the courage to see Shammi in that situation. "My daughter and Fardeen saw him in the hospital when he was not well. Main nahi gayi.. Main nahi dekh sakti unko iss halat mein," Mumtaz was quoted saying.

Mumtaz also revealed that she chose not to marry Shammi as she was too ambitious and didn't want to give up on her career. The Roti actress revealed that while the Kapoors had the tradition of not allowing their daughter-in-laws, she sacrificed her love for her career.
