Mumtaz's Condition For Comeback: Mumtaz is one of the most popular yesteryear actresses and there are no second thoughts about it. From her acting skills, to her hit films and the popular numbers, Mumtaz has never missed a chance to set the screen on fire with her panache. However, she has been missing from the big screen for over three decades now. While several veteran actors have been seen doing cameos or supporting roles in the films like Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Farida Jalal, Waheeda Rehman etc, Mumtaz has been maintaining a distance from films.

Mumtaz's Condition For Her Comeback

In an exclusive interview to Filmibeat's Aditya Rana popularly known as A se Aadi, Mumtaz stated that while she did get several offers for the comeback, she had turned them down as she want to play exactly how she looks. In fact, the veteran actress even expressed interest in doing a love story with a younger actor. Mumtaz stated, "Films ke liye offer bahut kam aaye hain aur jo aaye hain wo maine isliye refuse kar diya because I want to play what I look. Mujhe daal roti ki itni shortage nahi deta hai mera miyan ki main white baal laga ke gande daant laga k, mujhe iski zarurat nahi. I want to play what I look like a hero falling in love with an older woman. Main kyu buddhi ka role karu? Mujhe koi aisa acha offer aaya hi nahi. Agar mujhe story achi lagegi to karungi".

Interestingly, Mumtaz called herself very ambitious and admitted that while she was head over heels in love with Shammi Kapoor back then, she chose her career over love. In fact, she admitted that she continues to be as ambitious now as she was in her younger days. "I was in love with him but I was more in love with my career and myself. I sacrificed my love for my career aur maine galat nahi kiya," she had emphasised.

Well, while Mumtaz is yet to make a comeback on the big screen, it is evident that the veteran actress is looking forward to slaying on the silver screen yet again and leave everyone in absolute awe like always.
