The celebrity couple, who had taken over the social media with their mushy and dreamy proposal, their pre-wedding celebrations and was supposed to get married on November 23, 2025, shocked the world as they called off their wedding at the last moment. It was reported that while the wedding was postponed after Smriti's father faced a heart related issue, things took a different turn after reports of Palash cheating over his fiancée surfaced on social media.

According to media reports, Palash was cheating over Smriti with a choreographer name Mary D'Costa ahead of their wedding. The news came to light after Palash's chats with Mary were leaked on social media. This sparked rumours about Smriti calling off the wedding owing to Palash's cheating. In fact, the ace cricketer had even deleted all the pics with Palash from social media especially of their wedding festivities. And now, Palash's mother spoke about the wedding cancellation and revealed that it was Palash who decided to call off the wedding before Smriti took the decision.

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Palash's mother Amita Muchhal revealed that Palash broke down after he got to know about Smriti's father's ill health amid wedding festivities. Emphasising that Palash shares a deep bond with Smriti's father Srinivas Mandhana, Amita stated Palash called off the wedding post the haldi ceremony. "Palash ko uncle se bahut zyada attachment hai... Smriti se zyada yeh dono close hain... Palash ne decision liya ke usko abhi phere nahi karne jab tak uncle theek nahi ho jaate," she added.

Palash Gets Hospitalised After Cancelling The Wedding

Amita also revealed that even Palash's condition had worsened soon after cancelling the wedding and had to be hospitalised. "Rote rote ek dum tabiyat kharab ho gayi... 4 ghante hospital mein rakhna pada... IV drip chadhi, ECG hua... sab normal aaye, par stress bahut hai. (He cried so much that his condition suddenly worsened... He had to be kept in the hospital for 4 hours... he was put on an IV drip, an ECG was done... everything came back normal, but he is under a lot of stress.)," she was quoted saying.

Meanwhile, Palash and Smriti have been maintaining a stoic stance regarding the cheating allegations. In fact, there have been reports about Smriti unfollowing Palash amid allegations. However, those turned out to be mere rumours.
