Whistling Woods International commemorated International Yoga Day with engaging performances and significant reflections on mindfulness. Esteemed guests shared insights on yoga's impact, inspiring students and participants alike.

Whistling Woods International, a leading institute for film and creative arts in Mumbai, celebrated International Yoga Day with enthusiasm. The event marked the 11th year of their celebration, featuring students from an NGO. The day was filled with engaging yoga videos, musical performances, and workshops conducted by Whistling Woods students.

The audience had the opportunity to hear from Yoga Guru Dr. Hansa Ji Yogendra and Neerja Ji from Brahmakumaris. A highlight was a divine song performed in English by Whistling Woods alumni star Sai Godbole.

Inspiring Messages and Performances

Jackie Shroff shared his thoughts on the importance of mindfulness. He stated, "Everyone should keep one thing in mind: nothing is more important than breath in life. Dhyan (Meditation) is in every aspect. The one who cooks also cooks with Dhyan, and the one who eats eats with dhyan. The fact that you all are listening to me now is also dhyan." His message emphasized enjoying life fully without undue worry.

Meghna Ghai Puri, President of Whistling Woods, highlighted their support for an NGO that transforms residual plastic into usable fabrics. Approximately 282 students participated in yoga sessions alongside the Brahmakumari performing team.

Personal Journeys and Reflections

Subhash Ghai, founder and chairman of Whistling Woods, shared his personal journey with yoga. He expressed gratitude for discovering yoga's significance during his time at FTII. "I am very glad to see there are so many Yoga enthusiasts here," he said. Initially skeptical about yoga's relevance, he found peace through practice over two years.

Ghai credited yoga for shaping his career as an actor, writer, director, and producer. He recalled observing his mother practicing yoga during childhood and never missing a day without it since then.

The event underscored the importance of mindfulness and well-being through yoga practice. Participants left inspired by the messages shared by esteemed guests and performers.
